My suggestion for moves going forward:

Unless the return is a non UFA impact forward or D, I hold onto to all 3 potential first round picks this year, as if they're solid gold.

"Forward Sam Reinhart is 23 yrs. old and was the second-overall pick in 2014 "

TRIGGERED

On a serious note though, awesome piece, Mr. Pachla

I was 15 in '05-'06 and that team got me back into hockey. I think we all needed this year after wandering the proverbial desert for 8 years

just think if you were a 15 yr. old back in 11-12...all you'd have really remembered is that failed run to the playoffs, an NHL lockout and a stretch of hockey that saw the Sabres finish dead last three times

There was a time when there was overwhelming excitement for this club. For instance, the first year they made the playoffs in 72-73. The surprising game 5 overtime victory against the eventual Stanley Cup winners Montreal Canadiens. Even though they lost game 6, the buzz among the crowd before the start of the game was something. I am not saying this club is the same, but game by game this hockey club is surprising us all.

this is a time to be cautiously optimistic

they won 5 in a row

they could have easily lost all 5 games and probably deserve 5 points instead of 10

tied for 20th in goals per game at 2.9
9th in the league at goals allowed per game at 2.8

get 32 shots per game, allows 32 shots per game

last year we scored 2.4 goals per game and allowed 3.4 per

trending in the right direction

this year our pp is 18.2 and pk is 81.4

last year our pp was 19.1 and pk was 77.9

I think a little more goal scoring from the bottom 9, a little more from our d and a little more from our special teams, and the team will be reflecting the record

right now there is work to be done and I hope the staff and players are not content just because they got the proper results

it's a lot more fun to watch though

EK sounds foolish, they aren't trading Skinner or Pommer and they have no interest in Eaves.

Source: Browns eye Condi Rice for HC interview
The Browns would like to interview former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice for their head-coaching job, a league source told ESPN. If they follow through, it would make her the first woman in NFL history to interview for such a position.

clueless as always

botts is hitting the phone, so I have heard

looking at a center/winger for top 9 and a d man

casey might get moved to the wing if botts gets the right center

could be an interesting few weeks as I heard he is looking to make a move before the december freeze

WHY????, Just when you think they can't do something MORE stupid, they surprise you again. Maybe she could employe Nathen Peterman as QB coach...

As long as we aren't trading away all of our Future building blocks.... Maybe we could get Kessel from Pitt....

Pretty sure a high school coach could do that..... Don't know how she is qualified in anyway to be an NFL coach....

This reeks of a publicity stunt... look at us...

Four (4) games this week, awesome.

Team is far more fun to watch and is deveoping a lot more confidence by findings ways to win even though having been outplayed during large streches of the past few games. Good for them.

There has been talk on this board recently about Sabres being buyers this season...

Assuming they remain in a playoff position, I'm interested in seeing what ya'all think Botts should be looking for ...
-by position, not necessarily specific players.
-who/what would you make available to enable said move

Thoughts?

We could use a solid defensive center who is good on the dot and can pitch in 55-65 points.

It would also be cool if he was Catholic, missing a tooth and played the guitar.
